Professional competence development seminar - Future Class

On February 13, 2025, the Latvian Digital Accelerator had the opportunity to host local government adult education coordinators from all over Latvia at a professional competence development seminar, which took place at the Future Class.

This meeting was an important moment for dialogue between adult education creators and digital development experts. Adult education is increasingly becoming a key tool both in the context of labor market changes and in society's ability to adapt to technological development. That is why conversations about digitalization, technologies and new learning formats are especially relevant today.

During the seminar, we jointly explored digital transformation and technology development trends that affect education at all levels. In the discussions, we raised the issue of how to use digitalization not only as a tool, but as a change in thinking and approach in adult career education. A significant part of the seminar was also dedicated to prototyping – a practical approach to testing ideas, developing new learning solutions and improving services.

Such meetings are particularly important for the Latvian Digital Accelerator, as they form a bridge between the technology ecosystem and the educational environment. We see adult education as one of the most powerful mechanisms for promoting digital skills, competitiveness and the ability to learn throughout life. Direct conversations with local government coordinators allow us to better understand the real needs in the regions and jointly seek solutions that are practical, sustainable and adapted to different target audiences.

New contacts and ideas for future cooperation also gave this seminar special value. They confirm that digitalization in education is not a one-time project, but a continuous process based on cooperation, knowledge exchange and the courage to try new approaches.

We would like to thank all participants for their active involvement, open discussions and willingness to think about adult education in a broader and more modern context. Together, we are creating accessible, flexible and digitally smart adult education in Latvia.
