Digital Accelerator of Latvia and Its Partners Launch a New Project with a Focus on Artificial Intelligence

The European Digital Innovation Hub The Digital Accelerator of Latvia (EDIH DAoL) is launching a new project together with its partners: "EDIH Digital Accelerator of Latvia 2: AI focus" (ID No. 101330707, DAOL 2 AI). The project's main goal is to accelerate the digital maturity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), mid-cap companies, and public sector organizations, and to boost their competitiveness in Latvia and the European Union, with a particular focus on the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

 

The new project's activities build on the support and cooperation network established under the previous project, "Digital Accelerator of Latvia." With the launch of this new project, EDIH DAoL is shifting to an approach in which artificial intelligence is treated as one of the first solutions organizations should consider when creating new digital products and services. This means not only providing information about AI technologies, but also offering practical help to assess an organization's readiness for AI adoption, choose the most suitable solutions, and understand how to use them safely and responsibly.

Businesses and public sector organizations will have access to four core types of services: technology consulting, training and skills development, support in securing funding, and networking and access to innovation ecosystems. Work on planning these services is currently underway.

Over the course of the project, EDIH DAoL's role as a center of AI expertise and practical support will be strengthened. The project aims to support the development of at least 80 new digital products and services, improve AI and digital skills in 370 organizations, and help 285 organizations secure funding.

The project will run from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2029. The total planned project cost is €2,566,995.27, with €1,283,497.62 requested in EU funding. The project will be carried out by a broad network of 14 partners: the association "Digital Accelerator of Latvia," SIA "DATI Group," the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science, the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, SIA "LEITC," the University of Latvia, Riga Technical University, the Valmiera Development Agency, SIA "Elektroniskie sakari," Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Greentech Latvia, the "Ventspils High Technology Park" foundation, the Latvian Artificial Intelligence Association, and SIA "AI Master Lab."
